Once a divorce is finalized, many people think they are done with their legal issues. What you have to remember is that you may also need to establish or update your estate planning documents. At the very least you may want to designate a heath care surrogate so someone can make medical decisions for you should you be incapacitated. Also you will need to review any life insurance policies and bank account designations in order to be sure you are not leaving anything additional to your ex-spouse.
